The Track is the story of Lee Kelley, a thirty-year-old woman who thinks she has the perfect life but her perfect life implodes. First, her boyfriend—who she thought she’d be with forever—dumps her, and then a humiliating clash with her impossible new boss forces her to quit her dream job.

Everything she’d worked so hard for is gone, and Lee doesn’t know who she is anymore. She crashes. Fighting depression and desperate to find a new life purpose, she spots a book on her bookshelf that a friend had given her years earlier to inspire her to break free from her perfectionism and relax more.

It’s a guide to the Bibbulmun Track, a 1000-kilometre hiking trail through the south-west of Western Australia. When Lee starts reading it, she thinks that hiking the track is exactly what she needs. It will give her time and space to work out what to do with the rest of her life.

But she has no idea just how much the track will change her.
